What are pool hours, and what is the pool guest policy?

9am-10pm during seasonal months. The Standard welcomes two pool guests per resident.

What is The Standard's pet policy?

We love pets! The Standard welcomes up to two pets per apartment. Weight and breed restrictions apply. Please inquire with the office regarding pet fees.

What amenities are included at The Standard?

The Standard features a ton of great amenities including a resort-style pool and hot tub, 8,000 SF clubhouse, game room, extensive fitness facilities with a cardio studio, yoga space and strength center, Starbucks coffee lounge, computer lounge with private and group study areas, courtyard with fire pit, free tanning and parking garage.

How far is The Standard from St. Louis University?

The Standard is located at 3853 Forest Park Avenue, just two blocks and walking distance to the SLU campus!

Does The Standard offer parking?

Yes, garage parking with a gated entry is available for an additional fee.

What type of security features are included?

The Standard features a gated and camera monitored parking garage, as well as controlled access to each building. All access points to the buildings and corridors feature camera surveillance. The Standard also issues electronic key fobs to each resident that can be used to access his or her unit, as well as community amenities like the resident center and pool. The Standard also features on-site management and an after-hours security guard. Maintenance personnel are given keys that are programmed to work only during certain hours, ensuring that no one other than the residents have after-hours access to the units, and preventing keys from being copied.

What is a CA?

CA is an acronym for Community Assistant. CA’s are student residents who are employed by The Standard to assist our residents while living in the community.

What unit types are available at The Standard?

The Standard offers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom luxury student apartments. All floorplans are fully furnished with upscale finishes, and all bedrooms have private bathrooms. Exclusive top level loft units are also available.

Are appliances included in each unit?

Our apartments feature stainless steel appliances including an oven and range, microwave, refrigerator and dish washer. Each unit also includes a full size washer and dryer.

Is furniture included with each unit?

Yes! Units at The Standard are fully furnished with a sofa, chair, coffee table, end table, entertainment stand and seating for dining. Each bedroom includes a bed frame, mattress, desk with chair, night stand and dresser.

What personal belongings do I need to bring?

In an effort to provide ultimate convenience to our residents, The Standard provides all furniture that our residents need for day to day living in the community. Bedding, cookware, and toiletries are not provided by the property.

How do I submit a maintenance request?

Residents can submit a maintenance request on the website, by calling the office, or visiting the office in person. Our maintenance team is equipped to respond to all calls within 24 hours.

What if I lose my keys?

If you lose your keys or are locked out of your unit during business hours, please stop by the Leasing Office for assistance. For lock outs after business hours please call the Leasing Office and follow the prompts on our answering service for emergency maintenance.

How do I receive packages or mail?

Mail that does not fit in the personal mailboxes is delivered to The Standard’s Leasing Office. Residents receive a notice that a package is available for pickup, which is kept secure prior to pickup.

How do I start the leasing process and reserve my space at The Standard?

You can apply online anytime at www.TheStandardStLouis.com, or stop into our Leasing Office to sign a lease.

What are the terms of the lease agreement?

Lease terms at The Standard are mid-August to late July.

Are leases at The Standard individual or joint?

For the convenience of our residents, The Standard offers individual lease agreements.

What is a guarantor and cosigner and do I need one to sign a lease?

A guarantor is someone who financially guarantees that the lease payments will be paid to the landlord. Residents may apply to be their own guarantor, however, if they do not qualify to financially back their lease on their own, The Standard requires a different guarantor. However, we understand there are circumstances when this is not a feasible option. If you do not have a guarantor, and are interested in signing a lease, please contact our staff and they will be glad to assist you in potentially offering a solution to enable you to still join our community. A cosigner is only required if the lease signer is under the age of 18.

If I sign an individual lease and do not have a roommate, how am I matched with another resident?

We will assist in matching you with a like-minded roommate with similar study and sleeping habits. It is important to answer all of the roommate matching questions on the lease application so you are paired with a compatible roommate.

Do you allow for coed roommates?

Yes, coed rooming arrangements are accepted, but only if you fill a unit. If there are empty bed spaces in the unit, all roommates will be enrolled into our roommate matching program and placed with same sex roommates.

When is my rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of every month, and must be received by the 5th of the month.

What is the late fee policy?

Rent that is received on or after the 6th day of the month is considered late. The late fee is $50 plus $5 per day for every day that the rent is outstanding after the 6th day of the month until the 20th day of the month.

How and where can I pay my rent?

The Standard accepts credit cards, ACH checks, and money orders, but no cash. We offer multiple methods of rent payment including online via the website resident portal, in person or by mail. You can pay rent in person during office hours, or after hours via the on-site secure drop box. If paying by mail, please send to: 3853 Forest Park Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63108

What is included with rent?

Rent at The Standard includes furniture, high speed internet, cable with HBO, pest control, water, trash, and access to The Standard’s awesome amenities.

If I pay a security deposit, when will it be returned to me?

Security deposits are processed within the guidelines of state law promptly following the move out of your unit. Your unit will be inspected to ensure that it is left in the same condition that it was received with the exception of normal wear and tear. Any outstanding charges on your account upon move out will be credited with your security deposit, and the remainder will be sent to the forwarding address provided to us.

Can my security deposit be used for the last month's rent?

The security deposit is not intended to be used for the last month’s rent, and will result in the assessment of late fees against your account.
